The Council of Elders has been informed of William Lee’s plan to retire as the Senior Pastor of Bukit Arang on 31 December 2020. As part of the Church’s leadership succession plan, Ivan Chow who is the current Deputy Senior Pastor will be appointed as the Senior Pastor Designate effective 1 July 2020. He will take over as Senior Pastor on 1 January 2021.
As Senior Pastor Designate, he will be guided by William Lee to oversee all matters in the Church. His current responsibilities over the Adult (Community Care Groups) and Children (BANG) ministries will be handed over to Pastor Daniel Tan and Pastor Randy Yeo respectively. Senior Pastor William has dedicated more than 13 years pastoring Bukit Arang with godly foresight, wisdom and steadfastness.
Under his ministry and pastoral care, the Church has benefited greatly from his servant leadership. With Bukit Arang moving to the next phase of change, we seek the support, prayer and encouragement from our members. As the hymn ‘Lead on, O King Eternal’ writes:
“Lead on, O King eternal,
We follow, not with fears,
For gladness breaks like morning,
Where’er Thy face appears.
Thy cross is lifted over us,
We journey in its light;
The crown awaits the conquest;
Lead on, O God of might.”
We unite to ask God to guide His Church through the coming days of preparation. Since the founding of Bukit Arang in 1975, the mission has always been to advance the gospel to Singapore and the ends of the earth. We ask the Church to partner us on this shared journey to teach, train and win more people for Jesus.
