God declares a new thing for a fearful & weary people.
A sinful people under God’s judgement in exile from the Promised Land. Fearful that God has cast them off and weary of life in a hostile wilderness. Into this situation God comforts them with a declaration: He’ll do a new thing! This new thing involves a figure called the Servant who will do something surprising to fix their biggest problem.
